From a car assembler to a full-fledged car manufacturer, PROTON stands on a foundation of
sterling strength as Malaysia’s largest auto manufacturer. Through our full research &
development (R&D) value chain operations covering vehicle development program,
powertrain development, vehicle design & technology and advanced engineering, we are able
to move ahead from the competition through the infusion of new technologies.
The strategic partnership further expands the technology integration with local R&D talent,
introduces high-technology products, and enables to meet international market demand. The
launch of the new hi-tech engine assembly line at Tanjung Malim plant for the 1.5TGDi engine,
the first time it has been assembled outside of China is a testament to PROTON’s capability in
building reliable high-quality products.
PROCUREMENT & VENDOR DEVELOPMENT

capabilities & critical components through strategic local and international collaborations.
This has helped in achieving cost competitiveness and progressive localization on components
to build vendor capabilities and prepare them to compete globally.
MANUFACTURING
PROTON has a full manufacturing value chain operations ranging from vehicle manufacturing,
engine assembly & machining, stamping operations, dies & jigs manufacturing amongst others,
which are pivotal catering to growing market demands.
The new 1.5TGDi assembly line in Tanjung Malim plant was built using an IR 4.0 ethos
featuring high level of automation to boost productivity. It gives us an avenue to attract and
develop young talents who will help drive the automotive industry and the company into the
future.
At the same time, we also invested heavily and expanded our plants to optimize production
capability and to drive growth, local content, employment and capability in new technologies
to cater for the development of the next-generation Proton models.
We are committed to deliver high quality and reliable products to customers by adopting global
quality standards and safety level. We continue to progress and roll out more new
manufacturing facilities to enhance our production abilities and increase localization levels for
current and future models.
SALES & AFTER SALES
PROTON has been working relentlessly with the mission to offer the best ownership
experience to customers. Pride is taken in ensuring dealerships are trained with global
standards to ensure best practices are put into place. All these efforts are in line with our

Today, we have the widest 4S & 3S network in Malaysia. Continuous product and service
enhancements, coupled with comfortable and state-of-the-art facility environment are also
made and further add to customers receiving the best sales and after sales service
experience.
