Internship Description – Accounting
Company is seeking a motivated accounting intern who is ready to apply knowledge of financial terms
and principles to an authentic real-world experience. The intern will assist with a wide range of duties,
including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and learning about varied accounting activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for any student pursuing a career in finance.
Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end financial reports
Post journal entries
Help with accounts receivable, payable, and bank statement reconciliation
Assist with audits
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Collaborate with the finance team on yearly forecasting efforts
Manage monthly tracking of physical inventory
Support the payment processing team
Perform credit checks
Assist with data entry

Requirements:
Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting major
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Aptitude for mathematics
Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Maple Tree Global provides Class I components, assemblies and PFG (packaged finished goods) for
the medical industry including single use devices and medical soft goods (eg. cuffs, pads, straps, foam
assemblies, positioners, restraints & braces) as well as plastic film products such as drainage bags,
equipment drapes.
We are ISO 13485:2016 certified, and a registered manufacturer with the FDA.
We also work with a range of laboratories and sterilisers.
We have been manufacturing for the medical industry for over almost two decades and are used to
typical medical practices such as ISO 13485 design practices, supply chain record keeping
and traceability.
We use a wide range of foam, including laminated foams, in a wide range of densities, shapes and
requirements. We also use custom or off-the-shelf injected parts, hook and loop, webbing and other
materials to meet your requirements. Our plastic films group manufactures products such as surgical
drapes, drain bags and surgical booties using PE, PVC or other plastic films and appropriate sealing
technologies.

Douglas SHELLY is the Managing Director at Maple Tree Medical Devices Sdn Bhd is a graduate of
the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Engineering (Elec) and held a variety of
technical roles in Canada, Mexico and the USA including Director Chief Technology Office (Asia) for
Nortel Networks Inc. He later established a consulting and manufacturing company in Qingdao, China
as well as being Chairman of Phocos China LTD- the world’s largest off-grid solar electronics
manufacturer. In 2018 he established a medical device manufacturing company in Malaysia, an ISO
13485 certified contract manufacturer to FTSE100 and Fortune 500 global medical device companies.
