Speech to Text Audio Collection Project – Seniors (Remote)

About the Role

TELUS Digital is seeking native Malay speakers to participate in a Speech-to-Text (STT) audio collection project. Participants will record voice utterances by reading provided scripts in Malay English (Manglish) using our mobile or web application. During multiple recording sessions, you will receive scripts covering various everyday conversational topics and read them naturally and conversationally—avoiding overly formal or robotic speech patterns.

The Primary Objective

The primary objective of this project is to create high-quality audio recordings paired with corresponding scripts to train and improve speech recognition models. Your participation helps develop speech recognition technology that understands and processes natural speech in the Malaysian context, ultimately enhancing AI systems and user experience.

Payment Rate:

• $11 USD per 1 hour of completed task.
• This is an Independent Contractor opportunity.
• Payments will be made via Hyperwallet, where you can choose PayPal or Bank Transfer as the payment method.

Other Requirements:

• Native or Fluent Malay Speaker
• English Proficiency
• 60+ years of age
• A device with a microphone (phone, tablet, PC, or laptop)
• Stable internet connection for the duration of the task
• Each participant can only complete the project once
