Data Center (Engineer)

About the Role

1. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
2. Fresh graduates with a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.
3. Experience in managing Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) is preferred.
4. Familiarity with mission-critical facilities and 24/7 service operations is an advantage.
5. Good understanding of generator enclosure systems, diesel generator support systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, HVAC and ventilation systems, acoustic enclosures, fuel systems, and preventive & corrective maintenance.
6. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
8. Good command of Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and business partners.
9. Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
10. Able to work independently and willing to travel for customer visits, site inspections, and emergency support.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Development

• Develop and expand the aftersales business through Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, spare parts, refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade projects.
• Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts to increase recurring service revenue.
• Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and recommend suitable service solutions.
• Build strong relationships with data centre operators, facility managers, consultants, EPC contractors, and end users.

1. Technical Sales Support

• Prepare service proposals, maintenance contracts, quotations, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to identify maintenance requirements.
• Recommend appropriate service solutions based on equipment condition and operational requirements.
• Review customer specifications and provide technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to develop practical maintenance solutions.

1. Service Coordination

• Work closely with Service Engineers and Service Coordinators to plan maintenance schedules and mobilise manpower.
• Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Support emergency breakdown response and customer escalation when required.
• Ensure proper documentation of service reports, inspection findings, and customer recommendations.

1. Spare Parts & Upgrades

• Promote genuine spare parts, replacement components, and lifecycle management solutions.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and retrofit solutions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Follow up on equipment nearing end-of-life and propose replacement or refurbishment plans.

1. Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain regular communication with customers regarding maintenance schedules and service recommendations.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

1. Market Development

• Monitor competitor service offerings and pricing.
• Identify new service opportunities within the data centre and industrial sectors.
