COMPANY PROFILE

Fuji Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (FEM) was incorporated in February 1996. Located in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah Darul Aman and covering a total land area of about 86,000 square meters. Earlier operations include substrate production and media magnetic disk production. In March 2008, Fuji Electric Semiconductor (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was established for the manufacturing of industrial Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) modules.

 

On 1st April 2015, the magnetic disk and power semiconductor businesses were merged under one entity – Fuji Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd to further strengthen Fuji Electric business operation in Malaysia. Currently, the Semiconductor IGBT module is the main product of Fuji Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd after the company decided to exit Media business in 2021 and to focus on Semiconductor operation.

 

In Aug 2021, Fuji Electric Japan (FEJ) announced a new investment of about JPY25 Billion for the expansion of 8” Silicon Wafer in Fuji Electric Malaysia (FEM).  The construction project to convert the old Media Plant M1 building to 8” Wafer production began in December 2021 and was completed in September 2022 as scheduled. Also in September 2022, the head office approved an additional JPY 28.5 Billion investment to increase the 8” Wafer production capacity in Malaysia.

 

FEM has embarked on the pursuit of outstanding quality products with minimal impact on the environment, and was awarded with ISO9001:2015 in March 2017, followed by ISO14001:2015 in August 2017.
